Meet Amanda

I work with individuals and couples who carry a great deal — and need a place where they don’t have to.

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

  • Serving clients throughout California via secure online video conferencing

  • Almost two decades of experience supporting individuals and families

I have been licensed in the mental health field for nearly twenty years and remain deeply committed to walking alongside people through seasons of struggle and change. Whether with a client, a family member, or one of my own children, I hold each person’s story with care and dignity.

I believe people are resilient and capable of growth — even when life has worn them down or distorted how they see themselves. Much of my work involves helping clients untangle unhelpful patterns, reconnect with their strengths, and move forward with greater clarity. Clients often describe me as kind, patient, and thoughtful, with a persistence that does not give up easily. My goal is for you to feel deeply heard and understood, while also gently challenged when the time is right. I consider it both a responsibility and an honor to do this work and help people find their way through difficult seasons.

My Approach

Experience & Formation

My professional experience began within a nonprofit organization in Southern California. I worked in urban school-based systems, foster care settings, and young adult transitional living programs. Those early years, spent serving highly vulnerable populations, exposed me to some of the most complex diagnoses and profound heartaches. They shaped me not only as a therapist, but as a person.

Over time, my work expanded into opening my own private practice in Northern California, where I later became a clinical supervisor, guiding therapists-in-training as they honed both their clinical skills and professional identity. Teaching undergraduate psychology courses — particularly in the areas of relationships and attachment theory — has been a true joy. The classroom affords a different kind of connection with young adults: thoughtful, personal, and often filled with both depth and laughter.

Outside of my professional life, I am a wife of over twenty-two years and mother of four boys — roles that continually stretch and refine my understanding of growth, responsibility, humility, and grace. Living in a home filled with boys has given me a front-row seat to the emotional and developmental landscape of adolescent and young adult males, something that continues to inform my work with families navigating those formative years.

A Personal Note

When you bring your fears, your sorrows, and even your failures into therapy, you will not be met from a place of superiority, but from shared humanity.

Many of the individuals and couples I spend time with are highly capable people who carry significant responsibility in their families, careers, and communities. They are often the steady ones others rely on. Strength does not exempt anyone from struggle. In fact, those who carry the most often have the least space to lay it down.

It takes real strength to face your battles head on, to take ownership where needed, and to grow through what is difficult. I have deep respect and admiration for the work my clients undertake — often quietly, and often while continuing to show up for everyone else.

If you choose to sit across from me, you can expect honesty, warmth, and a space where you do not have to perform, impress, or hold everything together.
